Andrea Ortega, founder and designer of TOA Handmade Bags, infuses each piece with her love for Ecuadorian culture. Andrea started this project over 10 years ago, aiming to highlight the beauty of Ecuadorian raw materials and support artisan communities. Her vision is to blend tradition with contemporary fashion, creating unique accessories that tell a story of dedication and craftsmanship.

TOA Production Process and Materials

Each piece of TOA Handmade Bags is crafted from high-quality, carefully selected materials that reflect Ecuador’s natural richness. We use toquilla straw and Ecuadorian leather from Montecristi and Cotacachi, respectively. The artisanal process is meticulous, from the harvesting of the straw to the final weaving, ensuring exceptional and durable products.
